Creating Distinctive Landscape Designs
Longstone Gardens was established in 2004 by Jim Langenstein, RLA to create distinctive landscape designs by providing exceptional horticultural and construction expertise during the landscape design process. Our goal is to create aesthetically pleasing landscape designs that take into consideration the practical constraints of maintenance, construction, and economics. Our landscape designs have classic lines that are timeless in nature.
About Jim
A graduate of Cornell University with a BS degree in Plant Science, and SUNY College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry with a master's in landscape architecture, Jim has over 20 years of experience in landscape design and construction. He is a registered landscape architect in PA, NJ, NY, MD, MA, and OH.

Landscape Consultation, Design and Master Planning
The process starts with an initial consultation, where we review your ideas for your ideal landscape. We then try to meld your dreams with the realities of your site. This process may involve creating a landscape design for a specific area or create a master plan for your entire property.
Phasing Assistance
Sometimes we just can't afford everything that we want right away. When this happens, let us help you breakdown your project into phases so you can get what you want over time.
Bid Administration
For those who want assistance with their projects, we can solicit bids from quality contractors, review those bids with you, and assist you in your contractor selection.
Construction Management
Once a contractor is selected, we can act as your representative during the construction process by overseeing the construction and making sure that everything is done as per the plan. Once construction is complete, we can review the work and draw up a punch list of any items that need to be addressed.
